Cotton Seed

Cotton Seed is used as a medium to be coated with black powder to make burst for shells. The cotton seed provides a surface for the black powder to bond to, forming larger grains with less black powder weight. this method is common in shells larger then 4-inches to reduce the amount of black powder needed to fill the shell.
